The Contender Group has announced plans to raise £10m of funding and has appointed KPMG to assist in raising the money.

The firm?s activities are currently focused on three divisions - Home Entertainment Distribution where it represents titles including Will and Grace and Spooks, and its Hong Kong Legends and Premiere Asia movie brands; Television, which produces its wholly-owned children?s hit Tractor Tom and Peppa Pig and Consumer Products which is responsible for the domestic and international licensing programmes for CEG?s own properties.

Richard Bridgwood, managing director of CEG said: ?Our growth rate of sales has been greater than 50 per cent per annum since 1999 and we want to maintain that momentum. We will use the capital to drive our own development slate and to capitalise on the great success of Peppa Pig and Tractor Tom. We will also explore further acquisition opportunities.?
