The LEGO Group is to open its world’s largest retail outlet in the Chinese city of Shanghai later this year.

The 1,000 square-meter shop will mark the first flagship LEGO store in Asia and is expected to open its doors to the public in June this year.

The opening of the store will mark the launch of the eagerly awaited Shanghai Disneyland Park and will be located in Disneytown, a new shopping, eating and entertainment district outside the main park.

The LEGO Store will feature interactive indoor and outdoor play areas as well as giant LEGO models.

The store will follow the launch of a 3,000 square metre LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Shanghai’s Parkside Plaza on April 2nd.
