TIME has named LEGO as the most influential toy of all time.

LEGO topped the list as the brand, TIME states, has 'redefined the potential of playthings'.

The construction hit was followed on the list by Barbie ('world’s most popular doll for girls'), GI Joe ('paved the way for other action figures') and the Nerf Bow and Arrow (changed Nerf’s entire brand to where it is today').

Other entries in the list include the Super Soaker, Star Wars figurines and Cabbage Patch dolls, while the most recent creation to make the list is the Doc McStuffins toy line.
