The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line launches in the UK

The new look Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, brought some colour and humour to a wet, grey day at Hamleys flagship store on Regent Street as they met the public in their first ever UK character appearance.

Hamleys played host to an entourage of ninja turtles this weekend as it launched the new Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line with a special meet and greet event. 

The new look Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, brought some colour and humour to a wet, grey day at Hamleys flagship store on Regent Street as they met  the public in their first ever UK character appearance.

The reimagined turtles are now four different species: Raph is a jagged-shelled snapping turtle; Leo is a red-eared slider turtle; Donnie is a soft-shell turtle and Mikey is a box turtle.

Store visitors had the chance to participate in special ‘light-speed’ challenges; have their faces painted and watch episodes of the new Nickelodeon show in store.

The new merchandise includes action figures, vehicles, playsets and role play and are already some of the hottest toys on wish lists in the run-up to Christmas.

The shell-raising meet and greet follows the recent launch of the latest reimagining, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleson Nicktoons and Channel 5.

The new, highly detailed action figures are uniquely sculpted and fully articulated with heights ranging from 3” to 5”. Each figure comes with translucent accessories.

Meanwhile, the deluxe ninja action figures that have flipping actions plus movement and weapon sound effects. To complete the collection, The Giant Figure Assortment stand 11” tall and have 13 points of articulation. Fully equipped and ready for battle.

The new series stars the voice talent of Omar Miller (Ballers) as Raph; Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as Leo, Josh Brener (Silicon Valley) as Donnie; Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re The Worst) as Mikey; Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) as April O’Neil, a street savvy native New Yorker; Eric Bauza (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Splinter, father figure and sensei to the Turtles; and WWE Superstar John Cena as the villainous, Baron Draxum.

The line-up of guest stars voicing new mutants and bizarre villains includes: Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) as Big Mama, a gigantic spider mutant; John Michael Higgins (Pitch Perfect) as Warren Stone, a former news anchor turned mutant earthworm; Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Albearto, a singing, birthday-loving rampaging robot; Sam Richardson and Tim Simons (Veep) as Muninn and Huginn. gargoyles who are never far from their master, Baron Draxum; Johnny Lydon (Public Image Ltd ‘PiL’ and Sex Pistols) as Meat Sweats, a power-hungry mutant pig; Rhys Darby (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle)as Hypno-Potamus, a mutant magician/hippo; and Jorge Gutierrez (El Tigre) as Ghostbear, a human pro-wrestler champion with a taste for cheating.
