Pley – the ‘Netflix for LEGO’ sharing platform – is gearing up to launch a new set creation initiative, PleyWorld after raising $10m in extra funding.

Designed to mirror the premise of the LEGO fan invention site, LEGO Ideas - in which fans submit set ideas to be voted on by the LEGO community - the new platform will create set submissions and send them out to its community of members.

PleyWorld will encourage fans to submit their LEGO set ideas. Once the idea has received over 5000 votes, Pley will create the set and offer it either for rent or for purchase to its online community.

While Pley has no direct deal with LEGO, its founder and CEO, Ranan Lachman, states it does maintain a “good relationship.”

The new platform launch is just part of Pley’s plans for expansion this year. Following an injection of $10 million from investors, the firm intends to extend its operations into Europe and Asia.
