A new concept to encourage kids to move away from the iPad and back to physical pay has emerged from a team bringing sound effects to LEGO creations.

Called My Bricks Online, the concept is a smartphone app that senses movement of a LEGO construction and creates car sounds accordingly.

Debuted at TechCrunch Disrupt London, the app uses PubNub’s API to trigger actions based on colors shown to the device’s camera, the car makes different sounds on a red, yellow or black service.

Filip Denker and Peter Papp presented the app alongside an HTML page showing lap times on the track they had built.
