Lego unveils Minifigures series two

Firm reveals 16 new characters to the number one selling range.

The new set of minifigures will hit shelves on September 1st.

The first Minifigures phase launched in May and shot to number one in the UK toy sales chart, according to NPD. Many shops sold out of series one by the end of July.

Highlights of the series two line-up include a Disco Dude, Surfer, Explorer, Karate Master, Lifeguard, Mariachi, Mime Artist, Pharaoh, Pop Star, Ringmaster, Skier, Spartan Warrior, Traffic Cop, Vampire, Weightlifter and a Witch.

Each figure is sold in a sealed, blind pack and combines with all classic Lego bricks and parts. Its head is one Lego brick high and its body is three bricks high.

The figures will be available from Argos, Tesco, WH Smith, John Lewis, Smyths, and Toys R Us.
