Lego eyes Eastern Europe

Russia identified as potential key market for firm.

The firm says its current turnover in Eastern Europe is about 500 million Kroner or $98 million. Of this, the Russian market contributes 100 million Kroner.

Mads Nipper, executive vice president, Lego said: “Eastern Europe is one of the success stories.”

Nipper said the firm’s market share in the region is currently around seven per cent.

“We expect the combined toy market in Eastern Europe to grow more than 10 per cent in the coming years, and that we will at least match that growth,” he said.

The firm is also expecting to increase its sales in other emerging markets such as Brazil and China.
