LEGO has donated a LEGO model MRI scanner to the children's ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital to help prepare children for their scans.

GetReading reports that LEGO built the model for play specialists on the ward who try to ease children's anxiety during their hospital stay.

“Children coming for MRI scans can be really nervous as they are not sure what to expect. Being able to talk through what happens with the help of the working model is brilliant," said senior play specialist Ashley Zdanowicz.

“It is really important for them to be able to see what happens beforehand and the model is excellent for this.”

The model shows has a patient lying on the bench about to have the scan and includes X-rays in the computer area.
