LEGO has crowned the champion of its LEGO Chima Challenge following a seven-month tour of the UK.

The challenge saw thousands of children compete using LEGO Chima Speedorz, that are designed with rip cord functionality to race Chima character minifigures in their vehicles. The contenders raced to build, rip and win their way to the top of the leader board.

The top 14 children were invited to take part in the inaugural LEGO Chima Challenge final, with nine year old Reggie Pegrum from Waltham Abbey in Essex totting up a score of 2,150 to take first place.

Jacob Hooper from Coulsdon in Surrey was second with a score of 2,050, while ten year old Danny Leaf from Wendover in Buckinghamshire was third with a score of 1,750.

"The event was tense, fun and a testament to the boys' skill and speed; it was incredible to watch," said Danielle Brazier, LEGO UK spokesperson. "The whole roadshow was a great success, engaging children in the Chima range and really bringing it to life."
