Artist Riccardo Zangelmi has created a version of M.C. Escher's Relativity entirely out of LEGO.

The iconic piece, complete with mind-bending, gravity-defying stairs and bridges, has been recreated in plastic bricks as part of an exhibition lasting four months dedicated to the works of M.C. Escher.

Zangelmi's piece used 9000 LEGO bricks and took 15 days to build.

"This creation was made for the Foundation Magnani," said Zangelmi.

"This was a great experience for me, in which I was able to experiment with new techniques, and measure my building skills. This is definitely the most important job in size, and quantity of parts used.

"It has been a wonderful challenge."
