The Swedish outfit Robetoy has agreed to a cease and desist notification issued by Zimpli Kids over the sale of a product line said to infringe on the UK firm’s own Slime Baff IP.

The notification was issued by Simba Toys GmbH & Co on the first day of Nuremberg’s Spielwarenmesse when it discovered the company to be offering a product line under the Slime Bath brand.

Within 24 hours of issuing the notification, Robetoy removed the infringing product from the show in Germany and agree to paying Zimpli Kids a lump sum to offset its legal fees.

Zimpli Kids has highlighted its firm stance on IP infringement and its plans to defend them aggressively when called for.

Eejay Enyi. sales director at Zimpli Kids, said: “Zimpli Kids’ own substantial IP, trademark and patent rights worldwide on our two core brands Gelli Baff and Slime Baff and we will aggressively defend these rights in every jurisdiction in the world.

“We issued the cease and desist notification so as to stop Robetoy from offering infringing product at the show. Robetoy agreed within 24 hours to remove the infringing product from the show and pay us a lump sum to offset our legal fee.”

ToyNews has reached out to Robetoy for comment.
