Toy Trust to launch Give the Gift of Play campaign for 2017

Charity campaign will raise funds for key beneficiaries including hospitals that offer play-therapy.

Following a successful 2016 campaign, Toy Trust will renew it's efforts in 2017 with the Give the Gift of Play campaign.

2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the Toy Trust and the charitable foundation shows no signs of slowing down. Its main fundraiser for 2017 has been confirmed as the Big Cotswolds Challenge.

“It can be difficult to comprehend just how much of a difference play and play-therapy can make to a child when they are going through difficult times," explained Foye Pascoe, Chair of the Toy Trust Committee.

"Often however it can be the forgotten link went it comes to fundraising as paying for therapists and play equipment is not as tangible as large equipment and bricks and mortar. For the children involved however, it is a vital part of their social wellbeing and with play being at the centre of what our entire industry does, it seems especially fitting that we can help in this way.”

In 2016 the Toy Trust raised funds for every children’s hospice in the UK in order to Give the Gift of Play by improving play facilities at every centre. This year the funds would once again be spread across the UK. The Big Cotswold Challenge will be the main fundraiser of the year and will take place on Saturday 6th May at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire. Other activities, such as the new “heroes” challenges, sporting events and Pin Badges will all be part of the calendar and details on these new initiatives will be announced soon.
