Licensed board game specialist Wonder Forge is making waves in the States and now it wants to bring its products to the UK.
In May the company had a No.3 Toys R Us board game on its hands in the form of Chuggington Matching Game, according to ToyDirectory. It has since sold out.
The company says it expects to grow 86 per cent this year in the US, and by 49 per cent internationally. Plus, Wonder Forge estimates it has captured 20 per cent of the US pre-school board game market.
Around three quarters of Wonder Forge’s sales are driven by licences including Dr Seuss, Angelina Ballerina and Chuggington. The company uses distributors around the world and has just set up a route to market in the UK.
Last month the Seattle-based firm also secured $1.75 million in funding.
“The reception to our games and puzzles has been phenomenal,” said Jacobe Chrisman, Wonder Forge founder and CEO.
“The funding we’ve secured will help us bring our unique, quality kids’ entertainment experiences to even more households across the country and world, while it also allows us to grow into some new and exciting categories beginning in 2013.”
The company was set up in 2007 by Chrisman – the former head of product development at Cranium Games.
