The creator of a Duplo-style light-up construction toy wants it to launch in the UK.
Johnny Lin, who spent two years designing and patenting the LED Block for his three kids, is on the hunt for a distribution and manufacturing partner.
“When I watched my kids playing with Duplo, I started to wonder, what if these bricks could light up? Then we could build our own light-up dragons, cars, night lamps and many other cool things,” he told ToyNews.
The LED Block works by stacking onto a regular Duplo brick and lighting it up. There are battery stations formed of four square Duplo blocks, with three triple-A batteries inside.
The toy has already been on display at the Mega Show in Hong Kong, where Lin says it attracted the likes of Bandai and Spin Master.
“For the UK specifically, Wow Stuff and Red5 were interested at Mega Show,” Lin added. “We just want one distributor in the UK for this patented product."
Lin’s company, Get More, was founded by his father 34 years ago.
It will have a presence at Nuremberg Toy Fair next year.
“I’ve written a wheel patent, ball patents, LED Block patent, decoration glass patent and many more. I just like to invent things,” said Lin.
