Verrechia (pictured) was unanimously elected chairman of the trade body's board of directors at its annual membership meeting during last week’s ToyCon conference.

Mattel’s Bryan Stockton and Lego’s Soren Torp Laursen were elected vice chairman and secretary/treasurer, respectively.

Newly elected members of TIA’s board of directors include Jay Foreman, president of Play Along; George Irwin, chairman and CEO of Itoys; and Etienne Veber, president and chief operating officer of Learning Resources. Each will serve a two year term.

Board members re-elected to serve a second two-year term are: Jim Engle, president of Little Kids; Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s chief operating officer and soon-to-be CEO upon the May 22 retirement of Al Verrecchia from Hasbro’s top spot; Robert Pasin, CEO of Radio Flyer; James Pressman, Pressman Toy’s president; and Anton Rabie, president and Co-CEO of Spin Master.

“TIA is fortunate to have top industry executives personally engaged in the leadership of the association,” said Carter Keithley, TIA’s president. “The active involvement of the CEOs of large and small companies as TIA officers and directors assure that the association’s activities serve the needs of all companies in the industry. It is also testimony to the value that these executives place in TIA.”
