Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services has launched the new BV Smart app.

The app has been developed to help retailers, brands, manufacturers and importers stay up-to-date with the latest regulatory changes and new standards affecting the global consumer products supply chain.

The free app is available on Apple Store, Google Play and Microsoft Store and gives users access to the latest global regulatory news related to toys, textiles, footwear, juvenile products, electronic and electrical products, chemicals, hard goods, cosmetics, food, automotive and wireless.

A News Notification function has been built into BV Smart which alerts users each time a new update has been published.

The app also features a search function enabling users to filter updates by product categories and by regions of the world.

“The global regulatory landscape of consumer product requirements is ever-changing, with new or updated regulations and standards being released on a continual basis," said Jonathon Thackray, country chief executive officer for BVCPS UK, Netherlands & Eastern Europe.

"Understanding and being alerted of these changes is critical for our clients in order to make strategic business decisions. Our Information Resource Centre team has been successfully publishing technical bulletins for many years and they are highly valued by our clients.

"The idea behind the development of the BV Smart application was to enhance this added-value service by taking these regulatory alerts on a mobile platform and make them accessible anywhere and at anytime.”
