The BTHA has this morning confirmed that there is currently a clash of dates between the London Toy Fair and the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 2016.

The Toy Fair at Olympia has been booked for several years with opening dates of January 26th-28th, 2016. Dates are always booked in advance on the basis of information available at the time about the timings of other relevant shows. This is essential to secure the booking at Olympia - with enough time for building and breaking down the show, as well as assuring the open dates that exhibitors and visitors expect.

The Nuremberg Toy Fair has dates for 2016 that mean there is currently a direct clash of open dates on January 27th and 28th.

A statement from the BTHA said: "The BTHA in no way underestimates the issue this will cause for our exhibitors and visitors and the Association is trying hard to find a better alternative for all, to minimise the obvious inconvenience in 2016 as far as possible.

"The BTHA is working with Olympia to find a better solution than the current booked dates and will confirm the arrangements for the 2016 Toy Fair as soon as it is possible to do so. A key option being explored ‘for 2016 only' involves bringing the Toy Fair forward by a day or if possible two days to lessen the overlap of dates, amongst other routes being explored vigorously. Extended show opening hours are also being considered.

"The Association is taking all possible steps to minimise the obvious impact of the unwelcome clash of shows. The BTHA will keep all parties informed and exhibition booking forms for 2016 will be made available for all at the same time once the situation has been resolved."

More information will be relayed in due course by Roland Earl, Director General at the BTHA.
