BTHA warns on manufacturing costs

Association advises on potential impact of increasing manufacturing costs in China.
Publish date:

The BTHA has been made aware that rising costs are causing a number of Chinese manufacturers to review their prices.

This may also mean suppliers will need to review arrangements with retailers in the light of unforeseen major changes.

Cost increases are understood to be due to labour shortages and in turn, increased wages along with the weakness of sterling against the dollar. Also affecting costs are increased freight charges and increased raw material costs.

The BTHA will offer more information as the situation in China develops, but in the meantime, members are advised to check with their manufacturing partners.

For more information, members can contact the BTHA team on 020 7701 7271.
