Job Description:\r\n\r\nThe Product Development Manager will join our talented Creative team in Hammersmith, west London, which focuses on Design and Product Development for all categories of Licensed and Direct to Retail Disney product for EMEA.\r\n\r\nThis role will be responsible for Disney Plush (soft toys), reporting to the Product Development Director, and managing design and development of Plush categories across EMEA. This covers licensed Disney product and also our vertical businesses.\r\n\r\nIf you have commercial experience within Plush product development, a flair for people management and a strong grasp of design trends across kids' categories - please read on!\r\n\r\nResponsibilities:\r\n\r\nDisney Direct (Basic Plush)\r\n\r\n \tManage the creative output ensuring product innovation, brand consistency and compelling execution within a commercial context\r\n \tIdentify new product opportunities, create trend directions and develop first class conceptual designs\r\n \tWorking with the Product Development Director, manage and execute development from initiation to production, liaising with factories on costings, fabrics and form ensuring the factories have creative assets and product specs\r\n\r\nLicensed Product (Feature Plush, Infant Plush)\r\n\r\n \tWorking with our licensees, manage the development of Feature Plush and Infant Plush products ensuring product innovation, brand consistency and commercial relevance\r\n \tIdentify new product opportunities, create trend directions & develop first class conceptual design\r\n \tEnsure all new and existing licensees are trained and kept up to date on the Disney brand, property portfolio, creative assets and approval systems\r\n\r\nOverall\r\n\r\n \tBuild and maintain strong relationships within the regional teams and across other business units\r\n \tEnsure all product are routed through Disney\u2019s Online Product Approval system (OPA) as per global product integrity guidelines\r\n \tDevelop design solutions for Disney Direct and Licensing, utilising internal and external resources as required\r\n \tIdentify new areas of business and establish design requirements\r\n \tDevelop and maintain an expert knowledge of Disney\u2019s characters, films, properties, heritage and creative assets in order to assist in their usage on consumer products\r\n\r\nBasic Qualifications:\r\n\r\n \tDemonstrable commercial experience within Plush product development\r\n \tDemonstrable experience of managing creative teams\r\n \tAdvanced knowledge of trends within Plush and the broader world of design\r\n \tAdvanced knowledge of common manufacturing techniques and their application in production\r\n \tAbility to communicate design ideas using freehand drawing, computer techniques and\/or third party design resources to internal and external stakeholders at all levels\r\n \tAdvanced knowledge of Mac OSX, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office\r\n \tPackaging experience, desirable\r\n\r\nAdditional Information:\r\n\r\nThis is a permanent, full time position, based in our Hammersmith office.\r\nApplicants should have the existing right to work in the UK already in place when applying.\r\n\r\nAbout Disney Licensing:\r\n\r\nDisney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that brings our Company\u2019s stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps, books and console games.
