INDX Toys & Nursery reflects on successful show

INDX Toys & Nursery welcomed an upbeat crowd of industry retailers and buyers when it recently opened the doors to its 2022 show.

Having taken place on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 April, at Cranmore Park Conference and Exhibition Centre in Solihull, the trade show was supported by leading toy suppliers alongside a host of first-time nursery and gift exhibitors.

Brought to market by leading buying group Associated Independent Stores (AIS), and hosted by its toy division Playroom, INDX Toys & Nursery represented the first calendar date of 2022 that the industry could re-connect, and visiting buyers were presented with the latest ranges and exclusive trade deals from over 80 exhibitors.

“It was fantastic to see everyone at Cranmore Park and we had a very enjoyable two days hosting the show,” says Rosie Marshall, Head of Toys & Children’s Gifts, AIS. “Industry and community collaboration is invaluable to the show’s continued success, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our suppliers and visitors for their support. We’ll be back in April 2023!”

Visiting retailers heralded the show as a success. Rose Thorley, from The Eleventh Hour Gift Shop, commented that “it was a great show with lovely suppliers”, while Alison Brookes, Group Buyer, Elphicks Department Store, said: “I never miss an INDX toy show! It has all the top toy suppliers under one roof and gives me the opportunity to buy into show deals, see exciting new products and enables me to plan and book my orders in a friendly and professional environment.”

Exhibitors also praised the show, with Linda Gill from Finest for Baby remarking that “the whole INDX team were professional, friendly and helpful and that “Cranmore Park is definitely my favourite venue”.

There was good news for Keycraft Global, who brought some theatre (and Perry the Polar Bear) to the proceedings and scooped this year’s award for ‘Best Stand’. Wesley Elkins reflects on the achievement:

“With the likes of Playmobil and the LEGO Group, as well as people like Marvin’s Magic there, we knew we needed to up our game and a lot of effort went in! Safe to say we’re pretty chuffed with the result.”

INDX Toys & Nursery Gifts will return to Cranmore Park on 18-19 April 2023 and visitor registration will open in November 2022.
