Character Options has confirmed that this year’s London Toy Fair will see the return of the Weebles – the iconic, egg-shaped characters that first launched in the 1970s with the famous slogan: “Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!”
The fantastically wobbly collection includes the best of preschool licences, with Peppa Pig, licensed by Hasbro, launching late January. Aimed at children aged 18 months-plus, the range will see Peppa and friends reimagined as Weebles figures; beautifully designed with Peppa iconography, they will be instantly recognisable to little fans.
There are eight cute and wobbly characters to collect, as well as multi-figure packs and the Wind and Wobbly House Playset. There are also fun vehicle sets, including the Push-along Wobbly Car and the Pull-Along Wobbly Train.
Character Options has also entered into negotiations to bring Bluey, CoComelon and My Little Pony themed Weebles to retailers in autumn, setting up the portfolio to grow and grasp the imagination of a new generation of preschoolers.
Speaking of the launch, Mark Hunt, Character Options’ Marketing Director, said: “We are delighted to be relaunching the heritage brand Weebles. Its iconic branding is highly recognisable amongst parents, and we believe introducing top preschool licenses such as Peppa Pig, Bluey and CoComelon figures that wobble but don’t fall down, is a play pattern that perfectly aligns with the target age group.
“We have extensive marketing support in place for the brand, with TV, YouTube Pre-roll and PR campaigns ready to go. We can’t wait to showcase the collection in London in person to retail buyers!”
Character Options are at stand N16 at London Toy Fair, Olympia, from 25–27 January. For more information, call 0161 633 9800 or email sales@charactergroup.plc.uk.
