Fun In Motion Toys has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Rhino Records to produce a collection of Shashibo magnetic puzzle cubes featuring the iconic artwork of celebrated band Grateful Dead.
The Grateful Dead was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1994 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. The band’s final tally of 2,318 total concerts remains a world record. The Grateful Dead recently celebrated their 48th top 40 album on the Billboard chart, a feat no other group has achieved.
“To be associated with this iconic band is a dream come true,” says Kevin Daniels, President of Fun In Motion Toys. “Grateful Dead have always been about pushing the boundaries of creativity and that’s what Shashibo is all about. Just as the band’s music has created a vast community of ‘Dead Heads’ worldwide, our award-winning cubes have similarly attracted millions of fans throughout the world, so we’re truly putting our heads together for yet another way to let loose and have fun.”
Scheduled for distribution early this month, the initial Grateful Dead collection includes four Shashibo magnetic puzzle cubes featuring designs that incorporate some of the best-known Grateful Dead imagery (as seen above, l to r): Skull & Roses, Dancing Bears, Steal Your Face and Haight-Ashbury, MSRP $25 US.
