VTech unveils its 2021 Kidi Tech collection spanning Smartwatches, PrintCams, and smart devices

The children’s electronics and wearable tech expert, VTech has lifted the lid on its 2021 Kidi Tech collection, a new range of “age appropriate tech toys” that “take their cues from adult tech trends.”

The launch follows the success of the firm’s KidiZoom Smartwatch series that has found itself the best-selling smartwatch brand for children over the course of the last three years.

Building on its success in the field, VTech has unveiled its KidiZoom Smartwatch DX3, a sleek new design with two cameras for selfies, photos and videos and an LED that doubles as a flash and a torch. Adults can share the photos and videos at their discretion by uploading them to a computer.

The KidiZoom Smartwatch DX3 also has the ability to play two-player games and send preset messages to friends simply by scanning a code on a friends’ DX3. The watch also comes with a selection of apps, including more than 60 daily activity reminders, as well as eight games, motion tracking activities and a voice recorder.

Meanwhile, the KidiZoom PrintCam lets kids create black and white printouts of photos, using thermal paper that also allows them to print games, design and print their own greeting cards, play money, comic strips and more. There is a flip-up lens for selfies and three games to play.

Finally, KidiBuzz 3 is a kid-friendly smart device that offers 3D screen effects, a new magnifying lens for up-close photos and a new KidiCom Chat messaging app with video sharing. KidiCom Chat lets kids connect with parent-approved contacts to send texts, photos and video clips over Wi-Fi with other KidiBuzz devices and iPhone or Android smartphones.

KidiBuzz 3 also lets kids add live face filters and frames to photos and video clips, play over 40 interactive learning games that teach math, science and spelling, and explore kid-friendly websites. In addition, they can load and play their favorite music and movies for on-the-go entertainment.

“Our success lies in taking cues from adult tech trends and developing secure devices that support the way kids play,” said Andy Keimach, president, VTech Electronics North America. “Our Kidi Tech line features the coolest, age-appropriate tech toys.”
