Hornby, LEGO, Playmobil and Zuru make Licensing International Excellence Awards short list

Hornby Hobbies, LEGO, Playmobil, and Zuru have joined a list of major global toy brands in the running for industry recognition at the 2021 Licensing International Excellence Awards taking place in August.

Items such as Hornby’s The Beatles Eurostar Yellow submarine Model Train Set or LEGO’s Andy Warhol LEGO Art Edition, as well as Playmobil’s Back to the Future DeLorean and PlayMonster’s Peppa Pig Grow & Play Peppa Pots populate the long list of finalists each vying for the win at this year’s awards programme.

The 2021 Licensing International Excellence Awards are scheduled to take place during Licensing Expo Virtual on Tuesday, August 24th.

The long list has been compiled by more than 180 judges from 21 countries who narrowed the record-setting number of entries to the more than 150 finalists across the awards’ 22 categories.

It’s the likes of Aurora World, Jazwares, Moose Toys that now find themselves fighting it out to take home the licensing industry accolade within the Best Licensed Product – Toys/ Games/ Novelties/ Role Play for ages 0 to eight category, while the eight and above category sees Hornby face off against LEGO, Playmobil, Zuru, and others.

“Despite the many obstacles last year, the global licensing community created innovative products and programmes – including amazing pandemic pivots, that showcase the power of brand licensing,” said Maura Regan, president of Licensing International.

“We are thrilled to celebrate these nominees from around the globe for their incredible work and ingenuity, and look forward to recognising ‘the best of the best’ on August 24th at the Licensing International Excellence Awards ceremony.”
