Edx Education launches UK retail website to meet demand for products from families and parents

The educational toy brand, Edx Education, has launched a UK retail website, offering British parents and educators exclusive offers and discounts on products, as well as expert advice to support families with home learning and play activities.

The launch of www.shopedx.co.uk follows a successful year for UK retailers in the home learning market. Initially fuelled by the pandemic, lockdown, and school closures, toy trend forecasters predict that growth in the educational toy market is set to continue into 2021 and 2022.

The belief is that parents will demand more educational value from toy purchases, alongside inclusive family play opportunities.

Heather Welch, international brand manager at Edx Education, said: “We are excited to continue our expansion in the UK market and hope to inspire families to play, learn and bond together with our ever-growing product range and play ideas on shopedx.co.uk. Children have curious minds; they love to explore and experiment and what better way to do that than through play.”

Edx Education has been creating educational toys for schools in 90 countries for over 25 years. The product range has been designed and developed with educational experts and focuses on the philosophy of ‘learning through play’, which has been proven to be a highly effective method of teaching in the early years.

Dr Sarah Mundy, consultant clinical psychologist and author of Parenting Through Stories, said: “Play is not only an enjoyable part of childhood, but an important one. So vital, in fact, that it is recognised by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is crucial for mental health, physical, cognitive and social development. It allows children to engage in the world in a way that feels safe, explore different roles, address fears and develop confidence.

“Children who have parents who actively engage in play with them learn about sharing, problem solving and decision-making more quickly than those who don’t. Play also helps parents understand their child’s world and shows that they are interested in them, both important aspects of developing a secure attachment relationship – the cornerstone of a child’s development.”

With prices starting at £3.99, the Edx Education range is suitable for children aged 18 months to 10 years old and includes all the early years learning essentials such as extensive maths collections, active play, construction, exploration and imaginative play ranges.

2021 will see the expansion of the value Math101 and FunPlay home learning kits ranges too. Visit www.shopedx.co.uk to explore the full range.
