Bandai UK reveals Tamagotchi Pix to ‘allow players into the Tamagotchi world like never before’

Bandai UK is fortifying the Tamagotchi franchise with a new launch that allows fans to enter the Tamagotchi world like never before, called Tamagotchi Pix.

The device will be the first of its kind to feature a built-in camera that allows users to take pictures with their virtual pet and interact with their character in a more immersive way than before.

Taking the core elements of nurturing and caring for a virtual pet, the Tamagotchi Pix immerses users into the Tamagotchi world in which play is not simply about feeding their virtual pet, but cooking for their Tamagotchi character, have food delivered, and exploring the real world to meet Tamagotchi friends and add pictures of their adventures with a built in social feed.

Gameplay will be influenced by how a user raises their Tamagotchi character, with new personal rooms and gameplay that dictate a Tamagotchi character’s future profession when they go back to Tamagotchi planet.

With pre-sales starting today with Amazon – fans can get ready to hatch their new and improved Tamagotchi characters.

With over 82M units sold globally and almost 25 years in the market, Tamagotchi is a brand that is known across generations. Recent surveys have found that 57 per cent of toy buyers in the UK said they like to purchase toys for their children that they also played with, ensuring an incredible legacy for Tamagotchi.

No internet connection is required to connect with a virtual pet, allowing for Tamagotchi interaction while on the go, offering a ‘blended experience that brings together the real world with the world of Tamagotchi.

Priya Jadeja, brand manager at Bandai UK, said: “Tamagotchi has grown so much over the past 12 months through the Original launched back in the 90s. We’re excited to be launching a whole new product, the Tamagotchi Pix, and hope to engage a whole new generation of kids into the world of Tamagotchi. Tamagotchi Pix will bring all new characters, features and gameplay.”

The Tamagotchi Pix features a built in camera, new nurturing activities such as painting, cooking, and exploring using the camera, touch buttons that allow for interaction in a more intricate way, real world exploration to meet 100 Tamagotchi friends, and a host of new play possibilities.

Players will be able to earn Gotchi points or keep their characters happy with a variety of games, connect with a friend’s device through a Tama Code to play together, go online and complete missions to download new items and gifts, and more.

Users can choose from six languages for gameplay, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

Aimed at a core fanbase of six to 12 year olds, the Tamagotchi Pix device retails at £59.99.
