Basic Fun pledges £10,000 worth of K’Nex to UK schools in new learning initiative

Basic Fun has pledged £10,000 worth of K’Nex resources to schools across the UK as part of the company’s campaign to promote the construction toy’s application to fun learning at all stages of a child’s development.

Having launched the initiative on March 8th this year – coinciding with the re-opening of schools across England – the team at Basic Fun is now inviting parents, caregivers, and teachers to nominate their schools to receive a K’Next School Pack via the dedicated website

The nomination process will close on April 30th 2021, at which point school packs will be delivered to classrooms across the UK.

Selected schools will receive an assortment of K’Nex Education products and Kid K’Nex sets, as well as teaching packs, lesson plans, take-home information, and more.

Holly Lackey, head of marketing at Basic Fun, said: “In the past year, K’Nex has surged in popularity, with families using K’Nex to entertain and homeschool amid the lockdown restrictions. With this new initiative, we want to not only support our local communities, but we also want to increase awareness of the K’Nex brand and promote its application to STEaM learning in schools. 

“We want to drive home how readily K’Nex supports fun learning at all stages of development. For younger children, there’s the Kid K’Nex character sets to hone hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and more.

“For children that are ready for a next-level building challenge, there’s the core K’Nex collection. Meanwhile, particularly well-suited to an educational setting, there’s the K’Nex Education collection, which is aligned to national education standards; each set comes with hands-on lesson plans for teaching STEaM topics.
