The award-winning STEM arts and crafts specialist, Build Your Own is expanding its range of eco-friendly activity kits with the planned launch of its Mini Builds range later this year.
Scheduled for release this summer, the new range has been designed to compliment the firm’s current collection of Build Your Own construction kits, a selection that has already garnered much industry and media attention all within its first 12 months of launch.
The new Mini Builds collection will land with the initial line-up of smaller craft kits – each 100 per cent sustainable – inspired by the insects of the animal kingdom, with miniature paper and card builds of a Stag Beetle, Ladybird, Bee, and Dragonfly. Each kit will come with its own informative, STEM-inspired educational piece.
The arrival of the Mini Build collection follows what Build Your Own and Paper Engine founder, Keith Finch, has billed as a ‘fantastic first 12 months,’ that saw the outfit scoop various industry accolades, including a win in the ECO Category of the 2020 Independent Toy Awards for its best-selling Paper Plane Launcher.
“Buoyed by our fantastic first 12 months, we’re excited to launch our next series of STEM-inspired, educational and eco-friendly kits later this year. To compliment the current Build Your Own range, we are launching our new series of Mini-Builds this summer. The Mini-Build kits will be 100 per cent sustainable and retail for under £10; helping pockets as well as the environment,” Finch told ToyNews in an exclusive interview piece earlier this week.
“We’re excited to be launching our new Mini-Builds early summer – four innovative Build Your Own kits that children (and their grown-ups) will love. Each kit comes complete with an informative, STEM-inspired educational piece too.
We also have a further four new Build Your Own kits launching based on the success of our existing products. These will extend the STEM element of our designs, and bring exciting, fresh innovation to the toy industry.”
All of Build Your Own upcoming launches will be supported with marketing campaigns, including digital, PR, and social media activity. The firm will also be developing bespoke POS for its independent retailers, as well as a range of resources for children to use to get outside and explore the world around them.
On top of that, The Build Your Own team is growing in order to “deliver focused, ongoing PR andd marketing campaigns and drive its brand growth,” over the course of 2021.
“We are also adding to our team of paper engineers which is an incredibly exciting milestone for our young brand,” said Finch.
