The Showcase Q&A: Ginger Fox talks the upcoming 2021 delights for board game fans

ToyNews catches up with Ginger Fox’s marketing executive, Zoe Farmer

Hello Lewis, to start off – can you talk us through the strength of the Ginger Fox toys and games portfolio for this year?

The strength of our 2021 Ginger Fox catalogue lies in our growing portfolio of license games, as well as the addition of some great new non-license family games to complement our evergreens and best sellers.

What are the key launches and the key trends that you’re tapping into for the coming year? Why should retailers be excited to work with Ginger Fox for the coming year?

We had amazing success in 2020 with both the award-winning Taskmaster Board Game and Richard Osman’s House of Games Party Game, so licensed product continues to be a key trend and focus for us.

In 2021 we will be launching three new board games – Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, BBC’s Top Gear and Popmaster – as well as adding Beat the Chasers to our best selling range of licensed card games. The reaction from buyers so far has been fantastic so we enter 2021 full of confidence and incredibly excited about our new product launches.

What’s the next big move for you guys as we head into 2021?

We’re really excited about our growing portfolio of TV licensed games as you will already have read above, but also the fantastic added value we are bringing to many of these games through digital functionality, features and content.

This functionality has allowed us to capture the unique excitement of shows like Beat the Chasers and Millionaire, better than has ever previously been possible in a card or board game.

We are planning seasonal updates to much of our digital content during Christmas, Valentine’s Day and other events, making these games even more enjoyable to play again and again. There is so much potential in this area and we look forward to rolling out even more over the coming year. Watch this space.
