Super Mario, Star Wars and Yoto Player: ITV’s This Morning reveals its Top Toys for Christmas 2020

The popular children’s audio and story-telling system, Yoto, has found its place alongside some of the biggest names in children’s toys this year, having been named among the Top Toys for Christmas 2020 as selected by ITV’s This Morning.

Toys received top billing on the popular day-time show as presenters Phil and Holly joined the programme’s Steve Wilson to unveil their own pick of presents this festive season. Big name entertainment franchises such as Super Mario and Star Wars once again made their top toys appearance, as well as some of the industry’s smaller and budding product developers.

Both Yoto and The Crafty Robot found themselves sharing the limelight with some of this perennial favourites as the programme went on to showcase each of the picks for this season’s wishlists.

Yoto founder, Ben Drury, told ToyNews: “It’s incredible for us, a UK start-up, to be featured alongside some of the biggest and best global kids brands.

“Despite only launching earlier this year, our new Yoto Player is already proving highly popular with families around the world in the lead up to Christmas, and we are excited to be included in the Top Toys of 2020 on This Morning.”

Super Mario made his obligatory appearance in the ITV offering, in the form of the LEGO Adventure with Mario Starter Course, as well as in the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – the latest launch from Nintendo Switch that brings physical play and video gaming closer than before.

Squeakee the Interactive Balloon Dog has been tipped to be a favourite this year, featuring on the majority of top toy lists for 2020, alongside the Gotta Go Flamingo and Spin Master’s popular Present Pets. Laser Battle Hunters came in for another appearance, alongside Star Wars’ The Child Animatronic Edition.

Fisher-Price’s Rollin’ Rovee, Screwball Scramble Level 2, and the VTech KidiZoom Studio each featured, as well as the Yoto Player which made its top toys for Christmas debut in the ITV listing.

The top toy selection was rounded off with the Smartibot Builder Kit, bringing a STEM learning element to the proceedings.
