Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle puzzle takes Bloggers Choice as BlogOn Toy Awards reveals 2020 winners

University Games’ Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle 3D Puzzle has taken home the Blogger Choice Award for 2020, a choice reflective of the boom the puzzles market that has seen since the UK was subjected to lockdown restriction this year. The award was given at this year’s BlogOn Toy Awards, which this year, revealed its 2020 winners via a special, virtual event.

The win for University Games marks the first time that a puzzle has been handed the Bloggers Choice award, signalling a the current shift in consumer mindset towards desirable play patterns and trends for 2020.

University Games was among the 16 winning companies revealed at the fourth annual BlogOn Toy Awards this year, an event that turned all virtual as it played host to live demonstrations of over 200 entries across the awards’ categories. Streamed to parent influencers around the UK, the BlogOn team was live for two hours for the grand unveiling of this year’s winners.

The BlogOn Toy Awards team has billed the all-virtual event a success that witnessed more votes come in across all product categories ‘than ever before,’ citing the virtual format as a means of reaching a larger audience for the event.

Laura Seaton, BlogOn Toy Awards founder, commented: “2020 meant that we had to adapt and change the way we normally host the awards. Eventually we decided to live stream them.

“This format allowed us to spotlight each of the individual entries and gave the influencers a better insight into the value for money and quality of each product. This in turn provided some surprising winners beating many of the top toys listed elsewhere.

“Having a puzzle win the overall Bloggers Choice award was a real surprise and showcasing how it was built meant that the influencers were really able to grasp how brilliant the product was, something not always obvious from the box.”
