Hamleys lands in Bluewater and Trinity Leeds as it continues UK expansion plans

The iconic toy store, Hamleys is continuing with its expansion plans across the UK this year, with confirmation that the retailer is opening two new sites at popular shopping destinations in the north and south of England.

The UK’s oldest toy shop has now landed in Kent’s Bluewater shopping centre, while plans have been detailed to open up shop in Trinity Leeds. The new openings follow its launch into Liverpool ONE last month, and add to its network of 187 stores around the world.

The new pop-up toy shop at the popular shopping centre, Bluewater, will occupy more than 2,500 square feet of retail space on the Upper Thames Walk section of the site.

The toy shop will occupy more than 2,500 square feet on the Upper Thames Walk section of the centre. Upholding its mission to ‘bring toys to life,’ the pop up shop will play host to interactive toy demonstrations, character meet and greets, and more.

Chief executive officer Sumeet Yadav, said: “We are delighted to open at Bluewater Shopping Centre – Hamleys’ 187th store globally. Every year we welcome more than 10 million families to our stores across the world for a unique Hamleys experience where we bring to life fun and magic every day.

“Every visit is unique and our goal is to put smiles on faces, build lasting memories, while adults will relive memories of their childhood at Hamleys in Bluewater.”

In the north of England, and Trinity Leeds will welcome the toy retailer for the first time, though it has not been confirmed when it will open.
