Gibsons launches new puzzle advent calendar and ‘its bigger and better than ever’

Fueled by the success of its first jigsaw puzzle Christmas Calendar, a launch that won a Gift of the Year in 2019, Gibsons has unveiled a new jigsaw puzzle advent calendar, billed as bigger and better than ever before.

Unlike the previous Gibsons advent calendars that first launched in 2018, Christmas Around the World has 24 doors, which means puzzle enthusiasts can unbox a festive surprise every single day in the lead up to Christmas

The calendar contains 22 puzzles, each illustrated by talented artist Claire McElfatrick, a bottle of puzzle glue, and a length of ribbon. Each puzzle portrays a Christmas tradition from around the world, such as surfing Santas on the beach in Australia, to the magical Christmas markets that are held all over Europe.

Each completed puzzle takes a festive shape of either a Christmas tree, snowman, bauble or stocking. Puzzlers can then use the puzzle glue and ribbon to turn the puzzles into hanging decorations to enjoy year after year.

“I first started working on this product back in Summer 2019,” said Gibsons’ product development manager, Emily Charles. “I am immensely proud of the previous 12-door jigsaw calendars, but I wanted the 2020 version to be bigger and better than ever.

“It was a real challenge trying to find a way to package 22 puzzles, ribbon and glue in a way that would work on-shelf, but I feel we have achieved it. I love the design of the cube box and the fact we managed to include four different puzzle shapes. I also love that the puzzles can be turned into decorations and enjoyed for years to come. It adds that extra special gift factor that I hope our puzzle fans love much as we do.”

From the gold-foiled box to the puzzle illustrations themselves, the Gibsons Christmas Around the World Advent Calendar has been marked as a special gift for any puzzle enthusiast.
