Funko sets new Guinness World Record for the world’s largest mosaic creation – made from its Pop! Vinyl figures

The pop culture and collectables specialist, Funko has set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest mosaic creation, achieving the feat at Dubai’s world-famous Mall of the Emirates last week.

Using a staggering 8,600 Pop! Vinyl figures to create the largest packaged product mosaic in honour of Modesh, Dubai’s well-loved mascot, the record was set within 16 hours and was officially bestowed upon the collectables company on Sunday, August 16. It followed a four-day long build up.

The final creation now measures an impressive 157.7 square meters.

Danny Hickson, official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, said: “This is another proud moment for the UAE to add a new title to its wide collection of world records. Thousands of Pop! Vinyl products were used to celebrate Funko collectors around the world and what better way than with a Guinness World Records title.”

Shaddy Gaad, senior marketing manager, Guinness World Records, added: “We congratulate Funko, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Summer Surprises on their achievement.”

Motasem Ahmed, co-founder of Monkey Distribution (Funko’s distributor in the Middle East) concluded: “What a way to end the Summer than by breaking a world record! We hope everyone loves Modesh’s mosaic as much as we loved creating it.”
