Crayola has made its latest move to broaden its diversity and inclusion efforts within the company with the appointment of a new executive communications and diversity, equity and inclusion manager.
The firm’s longstanding executive, Karen Kelly has been appointed to the position, where she will be responsible for implementing the company’s Diversity and Inclusion strategies to further develop an inclusive culture within the company.
That culture, according to Crayola, will be ‘one that aligns with our core values, ensures employees feel valued, and embraces diversity.’ The announcement was made via Crayola’s social media platform.
Kelly has held a number of positions within the Crayola business over the course of 19 years. Most recently she held the position of executive communications and employee engagement manager. She will continue to head up this field for the business, while overseeing its diversity and inclusion efforts.
In the new role she will partner and consult with Crayola’s Diversity and Inclusion Council to develop its strategy and plans in alignment with the overarching goals of the firm, as well as influence and ensure appropriate diversity and inclusion workplace practices or initiatives are in place to enable an inclusive work environment.
