Ravensburger to launch immersive The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game based in the cult classic ’80s film

Ravensburger has detailed the upcoming release of The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game, a new cooperative board game adaptation of the cult film. The new title will join the firm’s growing slate of licensed titles that already features the likes of Jaws and Disney’s Hocus Pocus.

According to the board game specialist, The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game will differ from traditional board games in that players interact with different game boards within the ‘book’. The title has been developed to immerse players in the story as they complete each chapter and navigate their way through locations found in the 1987 film, The Princess Bride.

“In this chapter-based board game, players need to work together to keep the plot of the story on course and tell all six chapters despite constant interruptions from a sick Grandson and interference from Vizzini, Count Rugen and Prince Humperdink,” reads a statement from Ravensburger.

“Players cooperate to complete challenges by moving the seven paintable character miniatures and discarding Story cards from their hand. Once all chapters are completed, the players win the game and true “wuv” prevails.”

The Princess Bride Adventure Book Game (ages 10+ / 1-4 players / $24.99 MSRP) will be available at Target stores nationwide starting October 4.
