Kelly Toys Holdings, a subsidiary of Jazwares – is hosting its first Squishmallows Music Video Contest based on the catchy Hello We’re the Squishmallows jingle which was released to the public in April this year. The contest is open to residents within the US, Canada, and the UK aged 13 and over.
The contest offers participants the chance to win a Squishmallows Mystery Box valued at $1,000, plus ten runner-up Mystery Box Prixes values at $250.
“With more than a half-million views and thousands of downloads of our free ringtone in just a few months, the Squishmallows jingle is proving to be as popular as the Squishmallows themselves,” said Kellytoy co-president, Jonathan Kelly. “In fact, fans are already creating their own music videos on TikTok and Instagram so we thought it would be exciting to make a contest out of it.”
To create a music video, kids are being invited to visit www.squishmallows.com/musicvideocontest and download the Squishmallows song to be used in the video. Kids are then asked to create their video, upload it as an unlisted video to YouTube or private video to Vimeo and complete the entry form.
Squishmallows products must be featured in the video. Entries will be accepted through August 31, 2020.
To create the popular “Hello We’re the Squishmallows” jingle, Kellytoy commissioned Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and composer Luke Tierney who has toured the globe and worked as a composer for more than 20 years.
More than 50 million Squishmallows have sold since they were introduced in fall 2017. The squads have expanded to more than 500 characters and are available in more than 40 countries. Squishmallows range from 3.5 inches to 24 inches with suggested retail prices from $2.99 to $79.99, depending on the character size and style.
