Hornby has released its latest locomotive from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with its newest Ready to Play, Remote Controlled Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Set.
Fans of the magical world are being handed control of the franchise’s iconic train in the new battery powered, remote controlled edition that features authentic sound clips of the film series’ best-loved characters. The 37- piece train set includes a battery-powered steam 4-6-0 locomotive and tender, two passenger coaches and more.
The remote control promotes easy use and includes clearly marked buttons allowing the train to travel forward and backwards, sound the whistle, and ring the bell.
The set would make an ideal gift for any occasion and is perfect for young model railway fans, as the age recommendation is four and upwards.
The launch arrives as Hornby continues to celebrate its centenary year throughout July by hosting its #Hornby100 Social Media Takeover, featuring daily postings across social media that focus on Hornby over the last 100 years. Throughout the campaign, Hornby is encouraging customers to get involved with interactive posts that showcase ‘what makes Hornby so special to them.’
The campaign was kickstarted earlier this month with details of a collaboration between Hornby and Corgi to launch the Hornby Centenary Bristol Lodekka.
The livery on the Bristol Lodekka carries many of the brand names and logos synonymous with Hornby over the last 100 years, with the destination board displaying either Binns Road No. 20 or Westwood No. 64 denoting the year that Lines Bros acquired Hornby.
On top of this, Hornby is running a Memories campaign throughout 2020 and has asked Hornby customers to send in their Hornby Memories, culminating in the curation of the Memories Bookazine, found here: https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/bookazine
Add to this, Hornby has launched its Hornby Memory interviews on video form on its YouTube channel, here: https://www.youtube.com/user/hornbyhobbiesltd
