Cartamundi has appointed its first global Chief Marketing Officer in the form of Kraft Foods’ former director of chocolate brands in Benelux, Ann Viaene. The move has been made as Cartamundi continues to grow its global position as a leader in playing cards, card games, and children’s games.
Viaene made the appointment public in a post via social media in the past week, where she stated that she was “super pleased to join the Cartamundi team” as its first global CMO.
“The current multitude of global challenges has taught us many things, including the value of play,” she said in her post. “Play as a way to connect with each other, de-connect from our digital life and concerns, express and challenge ourselves… which is one of the reasons I am super pleased to join the Cartamundi team.
“Being Belgian, I am obviously also very proud to join this ambitious global leader, with its strong Belgian roots dating back to 1765. In a time when people look for connection and optimism, I am looking forward to doing just that through Cartamundi’s play solutions.”
A specialist in brand marketing, consumer insight and team leadership, Viaene built up a portfolio of experience working with global brands such as Kraft Foods and Armonea, where she held the role of Chief Marketing Officer and served as a member of the executive committee.
As the global CMO now at Cartamundi, a leading name in card-based entertainment and one of the driving forces behoind the global growth of the toy market, Viaene will oversee global brand growth and consumer strategy.
