A sequel to tabletop gaming’s Gloomhaven has already reached $6m on Kickstarter

The internationally adored tabletop title, Gloomhaven, has got a sequel title now on Kickstarter, and it has just hit over $5 million in crowdfunding.

Called Frosthaven, the new project is the follow up title to the tabletop title considered by many to be the best board game invented, delivering the next iteration of this 2017 tactical combat game.

Gloomhaven shot to fame three years ago, when it shook the crowdfunding space, joining an elite club of tabletop gaming projects to crack the millions in dollars from backers across the globe. With it, the game brought innovative gameplay and an immersive campaign.

Frosthaven promises to do it all again, and has already secured more than $6m on Kickstarter from closing in on 42,000 backers. And the project still has 28 days to go.

Like its predecessor, the game box is filled with a vast amount of components; with hundreds of markers, maps, tiles, card decks, miniatures, and more. The massive fantasy game promises hours of storytelling and adventure, as well as a Forgotten Circles expansion pack, along with additional campaigns and components as add-ons.

Frosthaven is a game for one to four players ages 14 and up; shipment is planned to begin in March 2021.
