MGA Entertainment’s LOL Surprise is helping children remain connected with their friends and family while the world undergoes social distancing and school closures with the launch of its national BFF Pen Pal campaign.
The campaign has been launched to help combat the feelings of separation by encouraging children who are social distancing at home to find alternative ways to stay in touch with their friends, as well as offering parents an activity with which to keep children occupied.
Launched on Friday, March 27, the campaign will teach children how to stay in touch with their friends and family by sending postcards to each other. Whilst having fun and connecting with their friends, this campaign also aims to encourage children to take a break from screen time and bring back letter writing with their friends.
LOL Surprise-themed postcards will be available to download for free from the brand’s UK Facebook (@lolsurpriseuk) and Instagram (@lolsurprise.uk) pages with a range of postcard designs from their popular collectable ranges – Lights, O.M.G. Fashion Dolls, Boys and #Hairvibes.
Each will include a fun activity for children to take part in from colouring-in to spot the difference. Fans who aren’t able to make it out to the post box will be encouraged to ask their parent or guardian to share their postcards with their friends digitally.
The campaign is part of a wider brand initiative to help beat boredom at home. Throughout the coming month the brand will be sharing regular free activity content on its social media channels including quizzes, games, colouring-in sheets, dance challenges and more.
Parents can follow #BBsBoredomBusters to find new activities each day.
LOL Surprise! was launched by MGA Entertainment, Inc. in December 2016 and has quickly become a global phenomenon as the world’s best-selling toy, driving the unstoppable craze for collectable toys.
