The Play for Change Awards are now open for entries

The inaugural Play for Change Awards, the awards event that will celebrate the best products to empower kids, champion sustainability, and encourage children’s future skills, is now open for entries.

Orchestrated by toy Industries of Europe with entries judged by a panel of industry experts covering each of the fields, entries can be submitted via www.playforchange.eu. The entry process will be open until May 8th this year.

The awards will cover three categories that have been earmarked by the awards in order to recognise the efforts made by toy companies striving for betterment across the industry. These are:

Children’s empowerment – this award recognises activities and toys that break boundaries based on outdated ‘norms’ of gender, race, ability and social status.

Improving the world’s environmental sustainability – this award recognises toy makers that are going the extra mile to protect the planet, either by changing their toys, the toys’ packaging or their production processes. Toys or games that help kids realise the importance of a sustainable future can also enter.

Encouraging kids’ future skills – this award recognises toy makers, who through their toys, games or other initiatives, are aiming to develop the 21st Century skills that kids will need in tomorrow’s world.
