Following its announcement last week that this year’s The Independent Toy and Gift Show which was to be cancelled, organisers are now exploring the opportunity to host the show later this year, in September.
Originally scheduled for its usual April slot on Tuesday, 21st and Wednesday 22nd next month, the Independent Toy and Gift Show was cancelled due to Government advice on travel and social gatherings amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
However, its organisers have since detailed swathes of requests from exhibitors and members for options of a later date this year to be explored. In response, AIS is now looking into the opportunity with its suppliers to host the show later this year on Monday 28th and Tuesday, 29th of September. The show would be returning to its commonplace home at Cranmore Park, Solihull.
“We want to offer this show as a platform to launch the critical fourth quarter of trading following the forced temporary closure of stores,” read a statement from the team.
“We will endeavour to bring together our members, members of other buying groups and other independents who will need to rebalance their stocks for the run up to Christmas at a time when suppliers will have warehouses full of stock to sell. Christmas is the one event that will not be cancelled.
“We would like to wish all those that have been involved in this show’s success good health and we look forward, hopefully, to welcoming them through our doors again in September.”
