Zimpli Kids steps up sustainability mission with new magazine covermounts range

Zimpli Kids has developed a new line of eco-friendly covermounts in a show of solidarity with the movement voiced by audiences and publishers to make better use of sustainable materials with their children’s magazines free giveaway products.

As more and more companies and parents alike move towards more eco-friendly products, Zimpli Kids has earmarked 2020 as the year that ‘begins its eco-warrior journey.’

Head of marketing at Zimpli Kids, Jessica Coy, commented: “Sustainability really is a hugely important factor to us at Zimpli Kids and we are determined to make a difference, one Gelli Baff at a time. Along with our brand new Eco range of products, we felt that creating a 20g Eco Gelli & Slime Play for covermounts would be the perfect offering for environmentally conscious magazines.”

Eco Gelli Play and Eco Slime Play covermounts use Zimpli Kids’ biodegradable powder, inside a recyclable paper bag and colour branded recyclable paper sleeve.

Zimpli’s Gelli and Slime powders – a solution that when added to water creates a colourful goo or slime – both passed the Bio-degradation Test OECD 301B as tested by Intertek. The OECD 301B test adds a product to sewerage, and measures its rate of bio-degradation.

All Zimpli’s covermounts, like more than 95 per cent of their products, the firm adds, are manufactured in its own ISO 9001 accredited UK Factory.

“They have also recently been accredited with the ISO 14001, the coveted environmental certification awarded to companies who prove they minimise how their operations negatively affect the environment,” added Coy.
