Worcester’s Wise Owl Toys to shut up shop as owners enter semi-retirement

The Worcester independent toy shop, Wise Owl Toys has received an outpouring from its customer base after its owners announced their intentions to retire and shut up shop this year.

Owners Mark and Heather Stewart detailed their plans to semi-retire later this year, having spent more than 20 years running the popular high street toy shop.

The pair will close Wise Owl Toys at the end of April this year, but will continue to run their left-handed business Left n Write and its website, training, and campaigning.

“We have had a fantastic time over the past 20 plus years in our toy shop, and have been greatly blessed with super customers, wonderful colleagues, supportive suppliers, and their friendly reps,” said the pair via the Wise Owl Facebook page.

“Thank you all so much for all your support and business throughout the years as, without you, we wouldn’t have survived 20 years on Worcester High Street.”

Mark and Heather, both 63, now plan on enjoying their semi retirement and spending more time with their family.

“We didn’t want to suddenly shut down (too great a shock for all of us) which is why we are announcing this now, and we do hope that you will drop in and see us before we close.”
