Zimpli Kids goes recyclable with its own eco range of products

Zimpli Kids has launched its own new Eco range of products, a line of 100 per cent recyclable children’s products featuring its popular Gelli and Slime Baff ranges.

All boxes, leaflets, and bags in the Zimpli Eco range are fully recyclable. For this new range, Zimpli have moved from plastic bags to paper bags which can be recycled with the retail box and leaflet in standard paper/card recycling.

The range includes its popular products Gelli Baff and Slime Baff which have recently been recognised as top products for sensory and educational play. Both Gelli and Slime have passed the Bio-degradation Test OECD 301B as tested by Intertek – the tester of consumer goods with over 1,000 laboratories across 100 countries.

The OECD 301B test adds a product to sewerage to measure its rate of biodegradation. Both products are classed as biodegradable according to this standard.

Sales director at Zimpli Kids, Eejay Enyi, commented: “We now manufacture over 95 per cent of our products in our company owned UK factory. We achieved ISO 9001 accreditation last year and we have just been accredited with ISO 14001, the coveted environmental certification.”

Zimpli had to prove it minimises how its operations negatively affect the environment and comply with all applicable laws in regards to effective environmental management and sustainability.

All Zimpli kids retail boxes and CDU boxes have now been changed to recycled board. As well as this, the eco range boxes have been designed with a plain white background on four sides of the box, reducing the ink by 49 per cent further reducing their environmental impact.

Enyi added: “It’s true our paper bags do not seal quite as reliably as plastic bags and our retail packaging may not be quite as shiny in recycled board as it would in new board, but we firmly believe this very nominal reduction in quality is more than justified – We hope you do to?”

Zimpli is also giving their educational range a full re vamp, which will also be fully eco-friendly.
