The eco-friendly toy brand, JUNKO, is to take a starring role in an upcoming new Channel 4 special that gives inventors and sellers the chance to showcase their wares in front of a live audience of shoppers and retail buyers.
Called Buy It Now for Christmas, the show is hosted by TV and radio personality, Rylan Clark-Neal. JUNKO took the opportunity to pitch its range to the audience, while inventor Peter Rope employed his own children to act as toy testers.
Rope said: “We had an amazing, and slightly nerve-wracking, day filming for the show. We had 90 seconds to present our JUNKO Core Zoomer! Kit to the audience and retailers. To be on prime-time TV and get to meet and present to some of those elusive retail buyers is a frankly unbelievable opportunity for a new brand like us.
“Rylan couldn’t have been more friendly and supportive too. We can’t say how it went; people will have to watch the show for that.”
JUNKO helps kids turn household junk into working toys such as vehicles, boats and buildings. It’s made from recycled plastic in the UK. JUNKO is a concept created by Rope in reaction to the amount of throwaway toys his kids were being given.
To date, all JUNKO kits have been awarded ‘Good Toy Guide’ highest ‘Recommended’ rating, while its Zoomer Kit has been awarded two European Product Design Awards.
