Smyths Toys to open new Portsmouth store with two-day party

A new Smyths Toys Superstore is opening in Portsmouth this weekend with a range of party activities for shoppers to take part in from 8am tomorrow morning.

Characters from PJ Masks, the Fat Controller from Thomas & Friends, Elf on the Shelf, Strawberry Kiss from Shopkins and a giant Schleich dinosaur will each welcome visitors as Smyths officially opens the doors of its new venue.

A DJ, two candy floss machines and four face painting stations will add to the party vibes of the grand opening, and will run alongside a host of giveaways, competitions and goodie bags over the weekend.

The new Portsmouth site will house over 12,000 products, including big brand toys and gaming devices. The store will also have a team of car seat fitters and mechanics who can build a bicycle of the customers’ design from scratch.

The new location will employ around 75 members of staff, each of which has been trained in the weeks preceding the opening at Smyths stores in Foresham and Hedge End.
