Spin Master is cooing over International Owl Awareness Day this year, using the annual event as the ‘perfect perch’ from which to launch its hotly anticipated toy line, Owleez.
And of course, bird lovers will get the chance to tweet all about it when the toy firm hosts its own Twitter Party on Sunday, August 4 in celebration of the occasion.
Already included in two major retailer’s Top Christmas Toy lists, Owleez is set to make some ‘birdsong’ on Twitter with the help of some of the UK’s top mum influencers. The Twitter Party is open to all UK followers, who will also stand the chance of winning an Owleez, as well as a special Owl Adoption certificate, so they can ‘own’ a real-life owl for one year.
Spin Master is keen to use the opportunity to raise awareness of the growing plight of Owls being bred for domestic captivity. Bird of Prey and Owl sanctuaries all around the UK have a large number owls in their care, rescued from unsuitable homes.

The Owleez Twitter party will take place on Twitter on Sunday between 6pm and 7pm and will mark the beginning of a significant and fully integrated marketing and PR campaign to support the launch of Owleez in the UK.
